Mauritania is currently receiving a high-level delegation from China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC), China’s largest offshore oil exploration and production company, led by Shi Yuhang, vice president of society.
The President of the Republic, Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, met on Wednesday 27 September 2017 with the members of the delegation in the presence of Mr. Mohamed Abdel Vetah, Minister of Petroleum, Energy and Mines and Mr. Zhang Jianguo, Ambassador of China to Mauritania.
The meeting discussed the areas and prospects for cooperation between Mauritania and CNOOC in the field of petroleum.
The visit of this important delegation of the Chinese oil giant intervenes in a climate of stability and competitiveness of the legal framework increasingly inciting oil and gas operators to enter the Mauritanian market as is now the case of the giants BP and TOTAL.
