London, 23/10/2017 - The Minister of Petroleum, Energy and Mines, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Vetah, presented at the Arab Mining Forum in London from 23 to 24th October 2017, a presentation on the reforms carried out by the Mauritanian government including the adoption of the new mining incentive code based on the transparent and sustainable partnership with the farmers and all stakeholders.
At the opening of this forum, where Mauritania is the mining country, the Minister pointed out that Mauritania is one of the first states in Africa to implement the transparency initiative in the extractive industries (EITI ).
He also said that the infrastructures that has been put in place to provide a better business climate has led, among other things, to the extension of the port of Nouadhibou, the construction of three new ports with special efforts to implement in place of renewable energy policies.
For their shares, the first managers of mining companies operating in Mauritania provided their testimony on the business climate favorable to investors and the creation of job opportunities.
The Arab Mining Forum aims to highlight the opportunities in the field of mining and mining in the Arab world as well as the transfer of technology and the encouragement of investment.
